Spur-winged Lapwing Vanellus spinosus
Ethiopia
January 2014
This very handsome species was found throughout our trip in
Ethiopia wherever there was suitable wetland. It was certainly the most common plover we would see; always a delight, however.
More lovely pics from Ethiopia. Hope you had a successful tour there !

Podoba mi się ptak i kolory jego upierzenia, no i oczywiście zdjęcia. Pozdrawiam.
ReplyDeleteI like the bird and the colors of its plumage, and of course pictures. Yours.
It is a handsome bird, and one that's especially interesting for me to see as our Masked Lapwing in Australia used to have that name, and it had to be changed because of the clash of names!
ReplyDeleteI have seen "your" bird too and it's equally handsome!
DeleteThey are quite different from the european ones but as beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAnd their red eye is a must!
Great shots David!
What a wonderful Plovers David and above two pictures I find super nice captured. I've also never seen these plovers!
