Cooper's Hawk in Waterloo, ON

Our Neighbourhood Cooper's Hawk, Accipiter cooperii

This bird has been spending the winter in our suburban neighbourhood, no doubt encouraged by the abundance of readily available prey at bird feeders. It has become quite approachable, apparently habituated to humans. These photographs were taken at close range.

I'm a life long birder. My interests are birds, nature, reading, books, outdoors, travel, food and wine.
