There are lots of pictures to go through - more than enough for a blog post, but I am a little pressed for time, so here is a guaranteed popular feature - LILY!!
28 October 2021
The Mill Race Trail, St. Jacobs, ON
I was very happy when David and Miriam made arrangements to meet my mom at the Mill Race Trail. That's one of my favourite spots because we get to feed the chickadees.
Look there's one over there!
Put your hand close, David, so that I can see the bird when it comes to take some seed.
Now I will really get a good view when the birds arrive since they have two hands to choose from, and I don't even have to stop eating.
The chickadees are great, but I really like Mallards too, especially when they go "Quack, quack, quack."
We walked the whole length of the trail and even stopped in St. Jacobs where the adults had a coffee.
Soon it was time to say goodbye, but I know we will do it again next week.
04 November 2021
Hillside Park, Waterloo, ON
The adults were all saying, "I can't believe it's November already." I am not quite sure what that means, but it seemed to get them excited!
A beautiful cat came to visit. In fact it walked with us most of the way. It was very friendly and David picked it up so that I could pet it.
It would be great to have a cat at home, but we already have two dogs, so that's enough! They might not get along anyway.
Mom brought breakfast for me, of course, and a squirrel was having breakfast too.
It seemed like we had barely met and yet it was two and a quarter hours later and time to part company for another week.
What an enjoyable post, David!!!
ReplyDeleteLily is no longer a baby!!! She is a very beautiful and content young lady. : ) I can tell she takes after her mom!
She is already a little person with her own personality!

ReplyDeleteOh Lily... I think you have a future as both a birder and blogger ahead of you!!! This was great fun to read and see. Lots of Love and hugs from afar, YAM-aunty xxx (with thanks to David for hosting you &*>)
ReplyDeleteUn gran abrazo queridos amigos, tocayos y grandes persona. Felicita a su mama de mi parte por tan dulce y agradable criatura que tiene.
Did you pick up the cat, David? Liky makes you a soft man.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs, Marit
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweetie.
ReplyDeleteDavid, I suddenly realized I've not received any notifications of new posts from you in quite some time. When I came to look, I found that I've missed three posts, at least. I was going to resubscribe by email, but I can't find any way to do that. Is there something that I'm missing -- apart from your posts, that is!
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know Blogger removed the notification by email option and didn't replace it with anything. Perhaps if someone else reads this comment they can let me know what I need to do to restore an alternative functional option. Most of the changes that have been made seem to be decidedly for the worse. If you send me your email address I would be happy to notify you in the meantime.
DeleteOK-doke. I have you in two places now: a feed reader and my WordPress reader. Neither provides an email, but it will be good exercise for my brain to remember to check for new offerings.
DeleteI do remember some fussing about those Blogger changes. You might consult Jeanie. Someone helped her add an email subscription option to her blog, and that's how I get her posts. I have no idea how it was done, but she might have a tip, or be able to put you in touch with the guru who figured it out. Anyway: I'm all set.
Great, Linda. I will check with Jeanie.
DeleteAdventures with Lily are irreplaceable. Love her precious face. She will be a great bird watcher one day.
ReplyDeleteSweet baby. Her pictures are always a treat.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous little one.

ReplyDeleteHope one day she can come back to your blog and re-live it all!
Hi David - delightful catch ups with Lily and her Mom - wonderful regular weekly walks - while the weather is still relatively warm ... so good to see all the goings on with her learning process and getting out and about. Lovely - thank you ... Hilary
ReplyDeleteLily is such a Sweetie, I think ll our readers are her fans, I know I am. And good that she is learning about wildlife from an early age, that's great. Have a wonderful day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteIn Danish she is a 'lækkermås' said with a twinkle in the eye. I am not sure I know an exact English word, but something like cutie or sweetie or even hottie maybe...
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Lisbeth

Many greetings go to you.
I don't think we know who knitted it, Viola. I am pretty sure her mom bought it. I bet you could make one though!

Hello
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun outing for Lily. I would be tickled to handfeed the birds. Lily is adorable, cute series of photos. I can see Lily will grow up loving nature. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a happy weekend. PS, I thank you for your comment.
If ever you make it to southern Ontario, I can guarantee you the pleasure.
DeleteLoved the post and the beautiful pics! Lily is adorable!
ReplyDeleteHow precious! We all love these posts featuring Lily. Now I'm curious...does she call you David? Have you chosen a cute name for her to call you? I'm Nana, probably a Southern Grandmother name!
ReplyDeleteRight now she has only a few words. She talks constantly but in a language that only she understands, but I suspect that the floodgates will soon be opened. We haven't even considered what she will call us, but David is fine with me and I am just waiting to see how she gets her tongue around Miriam!
DeleteCertainly Lily is your topmodel.
ReplyDeleteShe will grow up loving nature anyway.
Best regards, Corrie
What a delightful next generation birder! And I love the photo that you have as your header.
ReplyDeleteglad to see Lily loves nature. :)
ReplyDeleteTo be able to have Lily by your side is heaven sent!! Your life is complete.
ReplyDeleteLoving the hand feeding of birds (and Lily, I like the mallards too!)
Thanks so much for linking in.

We have no greater gift and responsibility than that of setting a positive example for the young. Therein lies hope.
ReplyDeleteVery nice post, David.
What a fine little narrator Lily is! And that yellow cat had my heart beating just a wee bit faster.
