The Glossy Ibis is the most cosmopolitan of all the ibises, occurring in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and North, Central and South America.
This juvenile bird was observed feeding in shallow water at the edge of Lake Awassa, Ethiopia.

ReplyDeleteI have them in the picture, but they should still places. I have a luxury buffest and that is that I take too many pictures lol ......
The plumage is very iridescent from green to violet.
ReplyDeleteWe had them often in our African garden and they locally called Hadedas because of their call!
Lovely image in the water vegetation!
Hadada Ibis is a different species, Noushka. It was far more common in Ethiopia than Glossy Ibis.
