It has been a long time since I received those
annoying, “Fail to publish, please try again later,” notices, but it is happening again virtually every time I attempt to add a comment. It seems to affect some blogs more than others, and the “try again later” attempt never seems to work. The longer the comment, the more likely it seems that it will not be published.
If you know that I routinely visit your blog and leave a comment, but have noticed that I have been absent, this is the reason.
Are you experiencing the same frustration?
It happened to me before, but not at the moment. But it keeps asking me to log in, though I am already logged in..so I have to refresh the page, etc.

ReplyDeleteIt hasn't happened to me either, yet. However, I've used Blogger help and there are some things you can try to clear that up. Hopefully that would work for you.
ReplyDeleteOh no, I hope blogger is not hicupping again, it used to be so frustrating when that happened. Have not had that happen in a long while. I do know that a few times when it happened I hit F5 to refresh or the refresh button and sometimes that worked. now that I typed that, I have noticed in the past week or two, that some blogs, always blogger, there are comments but no sign of a comment box. to fix that I hit refresh and it comes up.. thanks for the heads up, I might feel neglected if there is no comment from you

I often happened in the past, and it isn't so nice, but fortunately Blogger seems to work well lately. Look for Blogger help on the web, maybe you can find the help you need, David dear.

ReplyDeleteNot quite like this, but (very) occasionally I get 'error in posting' message at commenting. I just refresh the page and go again. It usually transpires that I have been posting at exactly the same moment as another commenter and there appears to be a clash with the workings as to who to post first. The fail to publish notice is a little different. Had that quite some time ago (years) and it was related to Google tinkering under the hood. It'll pass.
My main gripe with Blogger at the moment is that a great many posts are not appearing in timely fashion in my reader, so I am sometimes very late to the party - or miss the date altogether! Hey ho....... YAM xx
I may have experienced this in the past but certainly not of late! Blogger can glitch sometimes, any blog platform does. Does it do it every time you load the page again?
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised by your post. It happens to me very often. We have to endure it. Blogger constantly innovates. When I have a post written and want to publish it, it disappears forever. It disappears into space....

This has never happened to me on another blog.
ReplyDeleteIt happened to me with the popup response windows...but once I made it full screen I no longer have this issue. Blogs that have the comment box inside the blog itself without the pop-up windows usually are fine.

This happens a lot to me David, but if you click on PUBLISH again it normally publishes the comment. All else fails refresh the page and try again. I usually copy longer comments just in case! Then you can simply paste and try again!
ReplyDeleteIt does this to me quite often. I try to remember to copy the comment before I press the publish button. But usually it fails to publish only on occasions, I forgot to make a copy....

Hello David, the same thing is happening to me with two bloggers, and I have no idea why. It makes me look bad because they do greet me, and it gives the impression that i'm ignoring them. It's a shame; i hope this gets sorted out soon.

I've only experienced it on wordpress blogs, not blogger blogs.
ReplyDeleteI know a few people that this is happening to. You can do all the so called fixes but they don't work. Best thing is to report it to google.

Hi David - it's a nuisance and I'm not sure I've had that happen. I wait and work my way round it by being patient - and yes WP does now ask me to log in ... a nuisance to put it mildly ... but I'm just grateful to be blogging! ReplyDeleteHello David, that is not nice. I do not have this problem. What I did notice is that by placing a new blog it takes now a few hours to see it in my list of blogs I follow on my blog. I follow myself to be sure it is published. That was never before the case.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you're having issues. I've not run into that, but wonder if you've cleared your cache recently. I sometimes find that fixes lots of weird bugs. Run an extra virus scan, clear your cache and reboot. You might also try using a different browser to see if there's a difference. Good luck. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

Es kommt immer mal wieder vor das ich keinen Kommentar posten kann dann ist die Anmeldung bei Blogger nicht Richtig bei Blogger angekommen. Aktualisieren hilft manchmal oder ein Neustart.

It used to happen to me a lot. I would ask me to sign in and then start over again and ask me to sign in after I had just signed in. Lately, I don't seem to be having that problem... but it was very frustrating. I hope yours resolves itself soon.

ReplyDeleteThat's exactly why I always copy the comment first before trying to publish it. If it fails, I just refresh and paste it back in. It's the only reliable workaround I've found!

ReplyDeleteOh, that is incredibly frustrating! Technology can be so unreliable exactly when you need it to work. That "Fail to publish, please try again later" error is the worst, especially when you've taken the time to write a thoughtful comment.
ReplyDeleteHello David, I had some problems in commenting especially years ago when I used another browser than nowadays. It's terribly irritating when a long comment disappears and I learned to copy (and paste) them rather soon. :)

I had the same problem!....last week I couldn't even post!....change bowser and clean cookies....sometimes blogger goes "bipolar"....sometimes it prefers one browser only....good luck!......Abrazotes, Marcela

ReplyDeleteI had that happen to me a couple of months back. Sometimes refreshing the page does the trick. The issue disappeared after a week or so. I hope yours does too.
